Guide to Farming Kej Currency in the War Within

The War Within is an upcoming expansion in World of Warcraft that introduces the Kej currency. This guide will provide information on how to farm Kej currency in the game.

Renown Levels and Kej Rewards

Reaching certain renown levels with the Severed Threads faction will reward you with Kej currency. It's important to note that these rewards are bound to one character only, so you cannot obtain them on multiple characters in your account. Here are the renown levels and their corresponding Kej rewards:

  • Renown 2 rewards a small Kej Wallet containing 740 Kej.

  • Renown 8 rewards a small Kej Wallet containing 740 Kej.

  • Renown 10 rewards a Large Kej Wallet containing 1500 Kej.

  • Renown 14 rewards a Large Kej Wallet containing 1500 Kej.

  • Renown 18 rewards a Large Kej Wallet containing 3700 Kej.

  • Renown 22 rewards a Large Kej Wallet containing 3700 Kej.

Exchange Resonance Crystal to Kej

You can also exchange Kej to Resonance Crystals and vice versa. This feature is unlocked through the Renown system and is shared across all your characters once unlocked. Here are the exchange rates:

  • At Renown 8, you can exchange 800 Resonance Crystals for 100 Kej.

  • At Renown 14, you can exchange 400 Resonance Crystals for 100 Kej.

  • At Renown 21, you can exchange 100 Resonance Crystals for 100 Kej.

Weekly Activities and Pinnacle Caches

Engaging in certain weekly activities will reward you with a special cache called Pinnacle Cache. These caches contain various items, including 450 Kej. The weekly activities that reward Pinnacle Caches are:

  • Worldsoul Aid weekly

  • Archives weekly

  • Delve weekly

You can obtain a total of 3 Pinnacle Caches each week, and each cache rewards 1350 Kej. This reward can be obtained on all your characters.

The Severed Pact and Notoriety Pact

The Severed Pact, also known as the Notoriety Pact, consists of three factions: The Vizier, The Weaver, and The General. Reaching Renown 3 with the Severed Threads unlocks the main Azj-Kahet event, where you can do activities, gain reputation, and access special perks. Each faction in the Severed Pact offers different perks and rewards.

  • The Weaver Pact focuses on sabotage, espionage, and undermining the forces of Ansurek. Choosing this pact rewards you with Weaver's Parcel, which contains Profession materials and Kej currency.

  • The Vizier Pact focuses on alchemical means and diplomatic manipulations. Choosing this pact rewards you with The Vizier's Savvy, which grants you 10% more Kej from all sources.

The Severed Pact (Notoriety Pact)


Weekly Severed Thread Pact Quest and Activities

Choosing one of the three Severed Pacts grants you access to weekly quests and activities. These activities reward Kej currency. Here are the details:

  • Weekly Severed Thread Pact Quest: This quest rewards 1500 reputation with the chosen faction and 1500 for Renown with the Severed Threads. Completing the quest also rewards 500 Kej.

  • Weekly Pact Activities: Each objective of the Severed Pact rewards 50 Kej. 

Side Quests, Treasures, Rares, and World Quests

Completing side quests in Azj-Kahet rewards you with Kej currency. There are 15 side quests in total, and at the end of each side quest story, you can earn 250-750 Kej. Looting treasures and defeating rare enemies scattered throughout Azj-Kahet also rewards Kej currency. Each treasure or rare enemy can reward around 6 Kej. World Quests in Azj-Kahet may also offer Kej currency as a reward, sometimes up to 50 Kej.

Storyline on Alts, Snuffling, and Delves

Completing the storyline in Azj-Kahet on your alts rewards you with Kej currency.Once you reach Renown 2 with The Ringing Deeps, you gain access to special piles scattered around The Ringing Deeps. Looting these piles in Azj-Kahet rewards you with around 7 Kej each time.Completing each Delve run in Azj-Kahet rewards you with 150 Kej.


Amazing Way to Farm Kej

One of the chest rewards from weekly activities is the Pinnacle Chest. This chest will have various rewards in which one of them is 450 Kej.

There are 3 activities that rewards Pinnacle Caches:
- Weekly Delve Quest
- Weekly “Archives” Quest
- Weekly Worldsoul Aiding Quest

This means that you can get 1350 Kej on total on those three activities. And now for the best part.

You can complete this activty and get rewarded with Kej on EVERY character, not only on one. So based on how many charactrs you have, you can farm endlessly. But remember, this is what I have seen on beta.
