EVERYTHING on Warbands and alts in The War Within
In the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, The War Within, players will experience account-wide progression for all their characters across their Battle.net account, regardless of faction. This includes shared Renown, a Warband bank, Achievements, Collections, and more. Upon logging into the game, a Warband conversion process will automatically enable account-wide progression systems, eliminating the need to log into each character individually for progression and items.
The Warband system encompasses all characters on a player's Battle.net account within a single region, allowing access to characters across every realm, faction, and subscription within that region. Players will be able to select their characters from the login screen and assign them to a scene, with plans for additional scenes in the future. Once part of a Warband, players will no longer need to switch between realms to see characters, except in the case of multiple World of Warcraft subscriptions within a single Battle.net account.
Transmogs
Players will have the freedom to collect any item appearance with any character, regardless of whether they can equip the item. However, class-specific appearances will remain exclusive to the specific class. These changes will solely affect the ability to collect appearances, without altering the rules on which characters can use any given appearance. Furthermore, the process of collecting appearances from unbound items will become simpler, as players will no longer need to equip the item to add it to their collection. When an item is destroyed or obtained from Bind on Equip gear, the appearance will be automatically added to the player's collection. Additionally, existing gear in a character's bank or bag inventory will be automatically added to their Transmog collection upon logging in. Moreover, when gear drops with a transmog appearance that the player hasn't collected yet, they will have the option to roll for it, prioritizing Transmog over Greed. This system will expand to allow players to add class-specific items they can't equip to their Transmog collection, enabling greater flexibility and customization in styling characters. Lastly, when rolling for Transmog, gear that can be equipped by the current character will receive higher rolling priority than gear that cannot be equipped.
Warband Bank
Players will have the opportunity to utilize the Warband Bank, a convenient shared storage system for items across their characters on a single Battle.net account. The Warband Bank will feature up to five tabs, each with ninety-eight available inventory slots, which can be customized with icons and organized similar to a Guild Vault. Players will be able to deposit and withdraw non-soulbound items freely, and the bank will also function as a reagent bank, allowing crafting without the need to withdraw reagents. Additionally, the bank facilitates the deposit and manual withdrawal of gold across characters in the Warband. Players will receive access to the Warband Bank after completing the "Warbanding Together" storyline quests in Gadgetzan, and will be rewarded with the Warband Bank Distance Inhibitor spell, allowing for convenient access to the bank with a personal portal. The UI and functionality of the character-level bank will be adjusted in the future, with the transition from bags to tabs, but the number of slots available in the bank will remain unchanged.
Warbound until Equipped
Warbound until Equipped (WuE) is a new type of gear. Gear that is WuE can be freely traded across your Warband but becomes Soulbound once it's equipped by a character.
Boost your Alts with Gear
WuE gear will be available within Raids, Dungeons, and Delves.
Whenever you earn loot, you will have a slight bonus chance to gain an additional piece of WuE gear as personal loot. This gear will be at least one lower tier than other loot from that source (currently a whole upgrade track lower. So basically if you do hero gear content, it can drop WuE Champion Gear! Also, there is badluck protection bonus that increases the chance next time.
Reputations and Renown
New reputations and Renown tracks will be shared across the entire Warband, allowing players to earn reputation and rewards collectively. Completing quests and storylines will grant reputation, with subsequent completions rewarding resonance crystals or Kej for alts. These currencies can be freely transferred within the Warband and used to purchase various rewards like cosmetics, mounts, and pets. However, The War Within introduces a variety of rewards via the Renown system in which, some of them are one-time only for the character that receives it:
- Kej
- All type Crests
- Enchanted Crests
- Resonance Crystal
- Restored Coffer Keys
- Earth Encrusted Gems
- Valorstones
Currency Sharing
To avoid confusion, currency sharing within the Warband has been streamlined. Instead of mailing special items to alts, players can directly transfer shareable currencies through the currency User Interface (UI). Warband-wide currencies intended for purchasing items like cosmetics, pets, and mounts can be freely transferred between Warband members.

Flightstones
In the War Within expansion of World of Warcraft, Flightstones are cleared from your currency tab. However, Flightstones are still needed to upgrade Dragonflight gear. Flightstones are transferable in the War Within. Currently, there are no flightstone sources available on the Beta server.
Shared Achievements
All achievements in The War Within are considered Warband achievements. Players do not need to complete achievements on multiple characters, as progress and completion status are shared across the Warband. This ensures that players can freely explore different characters without feeling compelled to repeat achievements.
Alt Accessibility and Rewards
Before reaching level 80, players will have access to various World Activities, including Worldsoul Aiding, Awakening Machine (but the mobs are lvl 80), World Quests, Theatre Troup, and Archives. Completing certain activities like Worldsoul Aiding and Archives rewards players with Pinnacle Caches, which can only be opened at level 80. Delves, Weekly Delve, Severed Thread Pact, Special Assignment, Spreading the Light Weekly World Quest, and Valorstone on leveling alts are not accessible until level 80.
Shared Flight Points and Map Exploration
All flight points will be shared across the Warband and will be unlocked for all characters. Standard flight points that have not been learned yet will only need to be collected on one character, after which they will be available to all characters within the Warband.
A new toy called The Warband Map to Everywhere All At Once will be introduced to streamline map exploration. This toy will reveal all maps of regions that have been fully explored by a member of a player's Warband. Players will be able to obtain this toy by having two max-level characters, making map exploration more efficient for those who may not wish to re-explore every map on all their characters.
Expansion Reputations
In previous expansions, reputation vendors and transmog gear present some unique considerations. Profession patterns on reputation vendors are not Warbound, allowing players to access them with alts who have obtained the required reputation. However, items that grant reputation, such as tabards or commendations, are not Warbound. In Dragonflight, most new and many existing reputations will become Warband reputations, except for Winterpelt Furbolg and Glimmerogg Racer.
