Snuffling Tips & Trix & Best Locations in The War Within
The Snuffling activity is an engaging feature in the World of Warcraft expansion, The War Within. Players can explore the Khaz Algar zones to discover special piles on the ground, which they can interact with for various rewards.
Snuffling Mechanics
To participate, players must locate these piles, which can yield an item called "Odd Glob of Wax" and fragments for Coffer keys. When interacting with a pile, players may either loot it directly or face hostile enemies that must be defeated first. Additionally, toolboxes may be found during this activity, which are useful for the Awakening the Machine Event.
Unlocking the Snuffling Event
The Snuffling activity is accessed through the Renown system associated with The Assembly of the Deeps faction. Players can unlock it as follows:
Renown 2: Complete the quest "Every Day I'm Snuffling 1" to begin participation.
Renown 5: Unlock "Close Encounters of the Snuffling Kinds," which introduces rare events for more challenges and rewards.
Renown 16: Access "Every Day I'm Snuffling 2," providing additional treasures during Snuffling.
Daily Quests
There are two daily quests tied to the Snuffling event. One task requires finding and looting a pile, while the other varies daily, offering challenges such as completing waves of the Awakening Event or collecting certain items. Completing these quests can yield rewards like reputation points and Veteran Gear.
Contributing Odd Glob of Wax
Players can donate Odd Glob of Wax at a location called Middles, where contributing five Wax increases a personal progress bar by 10%. Once the bar reaches 100% (50 Odd Glob of Wax), players receive a Firelight Ruby, a currency for purchasing items from an NPC named Gnawbles. Each character has its own contribution bar, and progress does not transfer between characters.
BEST PLACE FOR SNUFFLING
Before you start snuffling make sure that you have these settings on so that you will find them MUCH easier.
Open options in-game and type “outline” in the search bar.
Make sure that you have selected “Quest Objectives, Mouseover, and Target on the Interface - Outline Mode.
Make sure that you have selected “High” on Graphics Quality Outline Mode.
If you want to make sure that there will be more piles available, also choose War Mode in one of the cities before heading out for snuffling because less players will be in War Mode and loot your piles.
Locations
There are two very good locations for Snuffling.
Light´s Blooming
This area is located on the north eastern part of Hallowfall. You will find loads and loads of dirt piles here.
The Ringing Deeps
This zone has 3 good spots to find a lot of Dirst Piles and also treasures. At the Earthernworks, at the Warrens and at the Waterworks.
