Upgrade Crests Are Now Uncapped in Season 1

With the latest weekly reset, Blizzard has officially removed the cap on gear upgrade crests for The War Within Season 1. This means that players now have the freedom to farm as many crests as they want without any restrictions, providing more flexibility and opportunities to enhance their gear.

Unlimited Crests for Upgrading

The following currencies are now completely uncapped, allowing players to collect and use them without limitations:

  • Weathered Harbinger Crest

  • Carved Harbinger Crest

  • Runed Harbinger Crest

  • Gilded Harbinger Crest

This change gives players more control over their progression, and for those who enjoy farming, it’s a welcome update.

Was This Change Too Late?

While this is a positive adjustment, it feels a bit late in the season. The previous cap was already high enough for most players to upgrade the majority—or even all—of their gear. As such, this update may not feel as impactful for those who have already maxed out their upgrades. Still, for players who are catching up or working on alts, this change provides a significant quality-of-life improvement, enabling them to farm and upgrade without worrying about weekly caps.

What Does This Mean for Players?

With no cap on crests, players can now:

  • Farm crests endlessly to enhance their gear without delays.

  • Catch up on upgrades for alternate characters or newly acquired gear.

  • Focus on endgame goals like Mythic+, Raids, and PvP progression without being limited by weekly restrictions.

This uncapped system ensures that players have more flexibility in how they approach gearing and upgrading, making it a solid move for both casual and hardcore players alike.
